WHAT WE DO
Redevelopment office building ‘Aeckerstyn’
Due to the changing market conditions, the demand for affordable housing is, just like in the whole city of Amsterdam, very high. In this plan, a total of 56 studio-style apartments have been included within a new triangular shaped building – within the construction area of the current sunny plan – of five storeys. The houses are located around a central green atrium, which is not only used to store water and purify the air; it is also intended to anchor the social living environment in the building. The superstructure has a façade like construction with strong horizontal and vertical lines. In the new structure there is no longer a connection with the existing residential building. The head of the square space is open and a direct relationship will be established with the park zone behind the complex. Storage rooms and parking are planned under the building. The design focuses on a high ambition in the area of sustainability.
